About A Monumental Love
Roxelle McCann is eager to meet the family of her best friend, so she takes a mini-vacation to the Navajo Nation. Roxelle expects to find out more about Navajo language and customs and to be awed by the beauty of Monument Valley. She does not expect to find love among the monuments. The man she meets offers both a surprising possible future and a tender reminder of the past.
This one is a novella, so it’s a quick read. That also means that the characters and some parts of the story aren’t going to be as developed as a novel, but I thought the author did a great job!
There were so many things I loved about this one! I loved the friendship that Roxelle and Kyra share. I loved the setting of this one, the Navajo Nation is a great backdrop to the story. And the characters are just great!
Roxelle is a great character. The reader doesn’t realize at the beginning of the book what a risk Roxelle is taking to go to the Navajo Nation with Kyra. Not everything is explained. I developed a huge respect for her when everything was revealed.
I loved how Will Tallman comes back into Roxelle’s life. He just fit in this story. The two of them just have a great chemistry and work. The reader doesn’t see anything through Will’s eyes. But they don’t have to to know what a great guy he is and just how much he cares for Roxelle.
I loved this novella! Everything about it was great! It was a great escape on a snowy day!
I was sent an e-copy of A Monumental Love as a gift. All opinions are my own.
