Universal Orlando Resort – Universal’s Volcano Bay

Take a break from wintertime temperatures with a visit to Universal’s Volcano Bay. This water park immerses you in the imaginary world of the Waturi people. Created by Universal exclusively for this theme park, the Waturis invite you to sunbathe, swim and slide through 19 different attractions in their island paradise. Here are some of my favorites:

  • Waturi Beach: This will be your first stop when you enter Volcano Bay, and you’ll find lounge areas, gentle surf and views of Krakatau Volcano.
  • Kopiko Wai Winding River: Take a gentle float along the river, and enter Stargazer’s Cave to see the night sky.
  • Ko’okiri Body Plunge: The body plunge begins with a 70 degree fall through a drop door and an encounter with Vol, the volcano god, as you race along 125 feet of slide toward a pool. 48 inches and taller.
  • TeAwa The Fearless River: For a more thrilling river float, put on a life jacket and experience the Fearless River. 48 inches and taller.
  • Krakatau Aqua Coaster: The centerpiece of Volcano Bay is Krakatau Volcano. Ride the thrill coaster down, around and through the volcano in a 4-person canoe. 42 inches and taller.
  • Punga Racers: Slide on a manta ray mat on a race to the pool below. Four slides are positioned side-by-side so you can try to beat your friends to the bottom. 42 inches and taller.
  • Tot Tiki Reef: The perfect place for little ones to play, Tot Tiki Reef provides shallow waters, gentle fountains and even a miniature volcano.
  • Kala and Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides: Side-by-side slides drop riders through a door to the slide before cruising to the pool below. 48 inches and taller.
