About Heart of Joy
He’s got the spirit of Christmas to transform her Grinch heart.
Joy’s dream of singing at the Fanstasy Music Festival is coming true…at the worst time of year. When the Southern Belles are invited to join Caldwell’s Cowboys to perform at the festival, Joy’s inner Grinch ices her heart. For her, Christmas is a time of pain, not joy, regardless of her name.
But that won’t stop Cason from trying to bring the joy of the season into her heart. He can’t resist a damsel in distress. He’ll have to work some yuletide magic to make her heart grow three sizes before the festival ends, and convince her to spend the holidays with him.
I know…I’m still talking about Christmas books. I love them! There are still several that I haven’t reviewed yet. So, it’s either review them now or wait a really long time!
This one by Lisa Swinton is a bit different than some. It’s really short. I read it in 45 minutes or so. That’s nice because it’s quick and easy to read, but I like a bit more to a story most times. It’s hard to really get to know the characters in so short a time. That didn’t really bother me with this one.
The author did a decent enough job letting the reader know the important parts of the characters. For example, the reader can kind of understand and empathize with Joy and her reasons for not loving Christmas. I liked that Cason understood at least some, but he still went out of his way to help her like Christmas.
This one is cute. If you like Christmas books, you’ll enjoy it!
I was sent an e-copy of Heart of Joy as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.
