What’s Happening at Disneyland in 2020 – Disneyland Park

You’ve probably heard by now about the new ride opening January 17, 2020 in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Rise of the Resistance is the most technologically advanced experience Disney has ever offered, and it’s exciting to have the second ride in Galaxy’s Edge debut this year.

If Disneyland After Dark events are of interest to you, the first one kicks off January 29, 2020. Disneyland After Dark 80s Nite is your chance to throw it way back. This separately-ticketed Disneyland event features music, decor, food and, of course, fashion from the 80s.

There are two chances in February to celebrate after dark in Disneyland; Sweethearts’ Nite is hosted February 13 and 14, 2020 and includes dancing, merchandise and even menu items in honor of Valentine’s Day.

February 28, 2020 Disneyland Park welcomes the Magic Happens parade. Each intricately designed float will feature one of the special moments in a Disney Character’s life when the “magic happens.” You won’t want to miss this festive celebration of the little things that make Disney films memorable!

Each fall, the Disneyland Resort features Halloween Time themes in mid-September. The festive decor and menu items continue until October 31, 2020, during which time you’re bound to encounter Disney Villains, and Disney Characters in costume. Some rides, such as Haunted Mansion, even get temporary makeovers for Halloween Time.

Early-to-mid November, the Park transforms for Holidays at Disneyland Resort. Halloween Time magically disappears and winter themes take over the Park. Look for Characters in their finest attire, as well as limited-time menu items and ride overlays. Visit “it’s a small world” for regular Holiday lightings and see how The Nightmare Before Christmas crew decorates Haunted Mansion for Christmas.

What’s Happening in Disneyland 2020 – Disney California Adventure Park

For a chance to see Mulan in the Disneyland Resort, be sure to book your vacation during the Lunar New Year celebration in Disney California Adventure Park. Mulan’s procession makes its way through the Park January 17 – February 9, 2020. Enjoy Asian-inspired food and fun as Disney celebrates the year of the rat.

Disney California Adventure Park is home to the delicious Food and Wine Festival each year. Beginning February 28, 2020 and running through April 21, 2020, the Festival offers guests menus from around the world. You can enjoy local California cuisine in addition to bites and beverages inspired from far off lands.

The final Disneyland After Dark event is hosted in Disney California Adventure Park on March 5, 2020. Celebrate all things PIXAR with three separate dance parties, commemorative keepsakes and special Character Encounters.

Summer in Disney California Adventure Park welcomes the brand-new Avengers Campus. For superheroes in training, there’s no better place to be than this new land. It includes the Spider-Man WEB slinger ride which invites guests to tour the hi-tech facility and try their hand at defeating rouge spider bots. This first phase of Avengers Campus also includes Pym Test Kitchen and WEB suppliers so you can eat and shop like an Avenger.

Halloween Time decor and celebrations can be found in Disney California Adventure Park, as well as Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party. On select nights, Oogie Boogie Bash guests can close down the Park enjoying themed dance parties, a Villainous overly to the World of Color nighttime spectacular and so much more. This is a separately-ticketed event; Disney California Adventure Park will only be open to Oogie Boogie Bash ticket holders on select nights during Halloween Time.

Just like Disneyland Park, California Adventure celebrates the Holidays in style. Look for temporary ride overlays including Mator’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl in Cars Land. Guests can find Santa on the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, and there will be the Festive Foods Marketplace near Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. This is your chance to get a taste of the Holidays from around the world.
