About Chute Boss
The perfect vacation: Rest. Therapy. And miles away from Reid Browning.
At first Eden thinks she’s spending three weeks at Broken Hearts Ranch to heal her head. But the longer she works with Kellie, the more she realizes her head is not the only thing hurting. Images from her tour in Iraq stay hidden but not deeply enough, and she knows she will need to forget or heal or both if she is ever going to move on. As a bonus, the ranch was going to be a good opportunity to avoid the dating scene, and men in general. Or so she thought.
As a world class bareback rider, Reid has given his all to rodeo and does everything he can to forget his law degree and the fast paced life he left in Washington DC. That includes the woman he recently met who got under his skin in all the wrong ways. The trouble is, she got under his skin in the right ways too. When he escapes to Texas to support his college brothers in the Lost Creek Rodeo, he couldn’t be more surprised to find her there.
Sparks fly and not always the good kind, but when circumstances throw them together and barriers come down, the two just might find a path to healing and maybe even love.
Welcome to Lost Creek Rodeo!
Best friends at a small college in Texas, six cowboys rise to become pro-rodeo stars. Follow Ryan, Reid, Westin, Ford, Eric and Lars in these six swoony sports romances.
Lost Creek Rodeo Series:
I love a good sports romance! And these ones by Sophia Summers, Heather Moore and Rebecca Connelly are some of the best. I love how you can read them in whatever order you want, they really don’t build on each other. But they feature some of the same characters and you get to see what happens to them. It’s just great!
This one was kind of fun because Eden and Reid had met before in Washington, DC. Reid kind of liked Eden, but she couldn’t stand him. Well, it was more what she thought she knew of him she couldn’t stand. I liked how as she got to know who he really was, Eden liked him more and more. Eden was a really complex character. She’s the leader of a non-profit working to help veterans. But what she hides is that she, herself, is a veteran. And she has some problems because of it. I loved that she was able to let go of those through her stay at Broken Hearts Ranch.
Reid is a bareback rider. He doesn’t want anything to do with the Washington, DC scene his dad wants him to be part of. He wants to live the idyllic life on his Texas ranch and do rodeos. Who can blame him? But getting knocked over by Eden’s huge dog gives him a concussion. And it’s doubtful that he’ll be able to do what he loves. I loved the way Reid makes life work for him, in his own way. He makes some big mistakes. But that just makes him seem more real.
This is one of those books I didn’t want to put down. I can’t wait to get to read all of the guy’s stories. If you want to check them out, look in the what to read next section below.
I was sent an e-copy of Chute Boss as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.
